    Perform a BKR check here

    • Step 1: Go to the BKR website and identify yourself online with your bank account using iDIN.
    • Step 2: Fill in your personal information and create an account. This will only take a minute of your time.
    • Step 3: View and check your BKR information for free.

Please note that iDIN is not the same as DigiD. With iDIN you log in the same way you are used to with your own bank, identifying yourself online.

    Doing a BKR check

Important: When you consult your BKR statement, pay special attention to the "Particulars" heading. If there is a code here, then you have a negative registration. This will cause hindrance when taking out a mortgage, loan or lease car.

Explanation of the codes on your BKR statement

    Removing A2 coding

If you have requested your BKR statement and see a registration, you may come across several letter and number codes. These codes help the BKR quickly identify what type of registration you have.

    What do the codes mean?

    • Code A: There is a delay in payment.
    • Code H: Payment arrears have been cleared.
    • Code 1: You are actively working to catch up on payment delays.
    • Code 2: The lender demands the full outstanding amount, not just the past due portion.
    • Code 3: The lender decided to repay the amount internally or waived the amount.
    • Code 4: You were unreachable by the lender for an extended period of time.
    • Code 5: There is a small late payment on your mortgage.
    • Code 9: There is a legal conflict with the lender.

How do I check my BKR statement?

Unfortunately, errors occur frequently at the BKR. Therefore, it is essential to thoroughly check your BKR statement after you request it. Three main aspects are important here:

    1. Credits and loans: Check that all current and recently terminated credits and loans are correctly reflected on your BKR statement.
    2. Personal Data: Verify the accuracy of your personal data associated with the credits listed. If these details are incorrect, please contact the relevant lender immediately.
    3. Repaid Credits: Check whether credits that you have (recently) paid off in full have been processed correctly. You do this by checking for a date under the heading "actual end date.

Once you have determined that the basic information on your BKR statement is correct, it is time to evaluate any codes and understand what they mean for your creditworthiness.

    Check how you are registered

Now it is time to check how you are registered with the BKR. We distinguish two types of notations:

    1. Positive BKR registration: This indicates a current loan or credit whose repayments you have always paid on time.
    2. Negative BKR Registration: If you are (or have been) in arrears with one or more loans, this will be shown on the statement as a negative BKR registration. It can be identified by the listed "particularity codes."

To check this, look under the "particulars" heading. Do you see a coding here (a letter, possibly combined with a number, for example, "A" or "A2")? Then you have a negative BKR registration. If there is only a dash, then this is a positive registration.

Do you have a negative BKR registration? Dynamite Netherlands helps

A negative BKR registration can hinder your financial plans, even though it is often not your fault. Banks take no chances and usually reject mortgage applications with negative registrations. Extra annoying is that a negative code remains visible for five years after the debt is paid off.
