Shocking examples

Here are some harrowing stories of victims:

  • An entrepreneur lost more than €250,000 at Unibet. This led to the loss of his home, business and relationship, and eventually to homelessness.
  • One student, Jeffrey, became addicted to online gambling and lost an average of €500 monthly. He could no longer pay his room and school fees and had to discontinue his studies.
  • At Betsson after losing nearly €300,000, a player with a mental disability was urged to continue playing with the message, "You were just unlucky."

These cases show how gambling companies have placed profits above human lives, with disastrous consequences.

Dynamite Netherlands makes history

Dynamite Netherlands is the first party in the Netherlands to collectively hold these gambling giants accountable. "This is a milestone in the protection of Dutch consumers," says D.F. Although some companies now have Dutch licenses, this does not change their past illegal activities. Some facts:

  • Unibet was fined €470,000 for illegal gambling.
  • Recently, Unibet was again fined €400,000 for allowing gambling addicts on the CRUKS register to continue playing anyway.
